Client Spotlight: Upgrading an Existing Fire Pit Base

Home Sweet Home: A Golden, Colorado Transformation

Golden isn’t just a beautiful place to live; it’s always fun to visit, and we love any chance we get to help someone level up their outdoor space.

For this recent project, we were working with a classic Golden view: the iconic Lookout Mountain, complete with the Colorado School of Mines “M” glowing in the background. Our client already had a great setup, a stone base, but they wanted more out of their fire feature.

The Perfect Fit: The Trailhead Series

We brought in our Trailhead Series log set, custom-fitted to their existing base. While the visual upgrade is obvious, the real magic is in how it performs.

Why We Love This Spot

Because these are handcrafted from steel, they don’t just look like a natural wood fire—they act as a heat sink. Our client can now stay outside longer, soaking up the radiant heat that steel provides much more efficiently than traditional ceramic logs. Plus, ceramic logs tend to deteriorate over time.

There’s nothing quite like sitting out on a crisp Golden evening, looking up at the mountains, and feeling the warmth of a fire that actually keeps you cozy. It was an honor to help this homeowner turn their patio into the ultimate “happy place.”

Whether you’re a Mines alum or just lucky enough to call this town home, this project is a perfect example of how a simple upgrade can completely change the vibe of your outdoor living area. Contact us if you have an existing fire pit base and are wondering how to upgrade to a log set that gives off more radiant heat.
